Liz Vandal

In a textile supply chain, each component harmonizes to create what Liz defines as an homage to the body. She believes that costume should evokes an abstracted concept of a represented entity, rather than replicating it. By using colours, pattern and cultural associations she is crafting a new performer identity-a romantic drag character named Jony. Liz is not only the designer of Jony, but the performer herself, as she channels her girlhood dream of being a performer.

Dans une chaîne d'approvisionnement textile, chaque composant s'harmonise pour créer ce que Liz définit comme un hommage au corps. Elle estime que le costume doit évoquer un concept abstrait d'une entité représentée, plutôt que de la reproduire. En utilisant des couleurs, des motifs et des associations culturelles, elle crée une nouvelle identité d'artiste - un personnage de dragueur romantique nommé Jony. Liz n'est pas seulement la créatrice de Jony, elle est aussi l'artiste elle-même, car elle réalise son rêve de petite fille : devenir artiste.
